The alarming incident came to light while Kirti was visiting a multiplex near Fun Republic Mall in Andheri West, Mumbai. During her outing, she received an alert on her mobile phone regarding a foreign transaction amounting to $2,525 on Aeromexico Airlines. The notification raised immediate concerns for the actress, as she had not authorized any such payment.
Upon realizing the transaction was suspicious, Kirti quickly contacted her bank’s customer care helpline. During the verification process, bank officials discovered multiple unauthorized transactions had occurred using her credit card. In total, four separate transactions were processed without her consent, leading to a financial loss of Rs 2,43,852.
Police and Cyber Cell Involvement
In response to the fraud, the bank took precautionary measures by blocking Kirti’s credit card to prevent further misuse. Following this, the actress filed a complaint at the Amboli Police Station, which led to the registration of an FIR against unknown accused individuals under relevant sections related to cyber fraud.
In her statement to the police, Kirti emphasized that she had never shared her credit card password or any confidential banking information with anyone. Investigators suspect that the fraud may have been executed using sophisticated digital methods, potentially involving malware or spyware that compromised her phone or banking credentials. However, the exact method of operation is still under investigation.

The Cyber Cell has taken over the investigation, collaborating with local police officials to identify the perpetrators. Authorities are currently examining bank reference numbers, transaction records, and other digital footprints in an effort to trace those involved in the fraudulent activities.
