John Abraham Takes the Wheel as Strategic Advisor for Indian Superbike League: “It’s Time to Get India Racing”
The Indian Superbike League (ISBL) has officially appointed actor and entrepreneur John Abraham as its Strategic Advisor. This announcement coincides with the launch of a dynamic promotional film that positions ISBL as the future of superbike racing in India. With Abraham at the forefront, the league aims to blend motorsport, entertainment, and pop culture, creating a fresh sporting proposition for Indian audiences.
A New Era for Superbike Racing
The promotional film serves as a significant introduction to ISBL’s identity, showcasing a unique fusion of performance, technology, and competition, all while celebrating India’s rich motorcycle culture. John Abraham’s involvement is pivotal, as he brings both passion and experience to the league.
In his remarks about joining ISBL, Abraham stated, “Motorcycles have always been a deeply personal passion. Being a sports team owner has also taught me what it takes to turn belief into sustained commitment. ISBL brings those two parts of my life together. I want to help young Indian riders get the opportunities they deserve and share the thrill of motorcycle racing with a whole new generation of fans. It’s time to Get India Racing.”
Vision for the Future
Pranav Bakre, the CEO of ISBL, expressed his personal connection to the league, saying, “I come from a family of racers, so building ISBL is deeply personal. My ambition is to carry that legacy forward by creating something that opens doors for the next generation. I want people to feel the excitement of racing that has stayed with my family for decades. With racing at its heart, and music and culture bringing more people into its world, ISBL is how I want to make that happen.”
Avi Jain, Managing Director of Dhuleva Group and Anchor Investor in ISBL, shared his enthusiasm for the league’s potential. He remarked, “My passion for motoring draws me to racing. As an investor, what excites me is the opportunity to build a business around it that creates lasting value. With ISBL, our ambition is to build a premium, commercially sustainable league that fans return to and partners want to grow with, season after season.”
Structure and Opportunities
Sanctioned by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), ISBL will feature a franchise-based championship that includes two Pro categories, as well as Amateur, Female Riders, and Rookie classes. The league aims to establish a structured competitive environment for riders while creating opportunities for teams, technical personnel, brands, creators, and the broader motorsport ecosystem.
