Akasa Airlines has inquired about the duration of IndiGo’s capacity cuts, as it plans to introduce additional flights in January with its newly inducted aircraft. The aviation ministry is expected to finalize the details regarding IndiGo’s capacity reductions soon.
Air India has also expressed interest in expanding its operations, offering to explore the possibility of operating 275 extra flights this month. However, the overall capacity in the market remains tight, with many airlines, including Akasa, already fully utilizing their resources. The industry is hopeful that IndiGo will stabilize its operations soon, allowing for a more balanced competitive landscape in the aviation sector.
