Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Communications Union Minister of State & Kheda Member of Parliament Shri Devusinh Chauhan presented awards and accolades to sportsmen at the MP Sports Competition 2023 Final at District Sports Complex today from Nadiad, Gujarat. Both dignitaries urged young people to play a constructive role in nation-building.
This year, the competition saw an outstanding turnout of around 9,500 participants from across the Kheda Lok Sabha constituency, making it one of the largest sporting events of its kind in India. Athletes participated in a wide variety of sports, including volleyball, kabaddi, street shooting, lemon spoon, kothra, running, and karate skating.
During this grand event, the winning players received medals and words of encouragement from esteemed guests including MLAs from all Kheda Lok Sabha legislative assemblies and other dignitaries.
In line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of fostering an environment that takes the younger generation away from screens and towards the sports field, the MP Sports Competition sponsored by Shri Devusinh Chauhan has been successfully conducted for the past two years in Cheda.
Also, in a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Central India Commitment Letter was recited at the headquarters, eliciting a broad positive response. This effort to instill a sense of nationalism among both players and spectators was appreciated by competition coordinators Shri Manojbhai Trivedi and Shri Priteshbhai Patel.
The Minister extends his deepest gratitude to the Prime Minister, all participants, coordinators and spectators for their invaluable contribution in making the sporting event a remarkable success.
