Foundation Laid for New CRC in Jaipur
On January 15, 2025, Dr. Virendra Kumar, the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, laid the foundation stone for a new building of the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for the rehabilitation of Divyangjan in Jamdoli, Jaipur. This significant event was attended by several dignitaries, including Rajasthanโs Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Avinash Gehlot, and other officials from the state and central governments. The new CRC aims to enhance the support and services available for persons with disabilities in the region.
A Commitment to Empowerment
Dr. Virendra Kumar expressed his gratitude to the Rajasthan Government for providing 2.5 acres of land in the Social Justice Sankul of Jamdoli for this important project. The new CRC building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 crore. It will feature a Cross-Disability Early Intervention Centre, which will offer medical and educational support for young children with disabilities. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to empower Divyangjan and ensure they receive the necessary resources for their development.
The establishment of the CRC is a significant step towards creating an inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities. The center will not only focus on rehabilitation but also on early intervention, which is crucial for the development of children with disabilities. By providing tailored support, the CRC aims to improve the quality of life for these children and their families.
Enhancing Accessibility and Support Services
During the event, Dr. Kumar highlighted the establishment of the Prime Minister Divyasha Kendra in Jaipur. This center will ensure that Divyangjan can easily access assistive devices, which are essential for their daily activities and independence. The Minister also announced plans to introduce caregiver training programs at the CRC. These programs will equip parents and caregivers with the skills needed to support their loved ones effectively.
The focus on accessibility and support services is vital for fostering an inclusive society. By addressing the needs of Divyangjan, the government aims to break down barriers and promote equal opportunities. The CRC will serve as a hub for resources and information, helping families navigate the challenges they face.
Future Expansion and Community Engagement
Dr. Kumar also requested the Rajasthan Government to allocate an additional 2.5 acres of land for expanding the center. This expansion would allow for the development of residential facilities for Divyang students and professionals. Such facilities would provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals pursuing education and vocational training.
Additionally, during the event, the Minister distributed aids and assistive devices to Divyang and senior citizen beneficiaries. This gesture underscores the government’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and ensuring they have access to the tools they need for independence.
Collaborative Efforts for Welfare
Shri Avinash Gehlot, the Rajasthan Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting the Central Governmentโs welfare schemes for Divyangjan. He reiterated that the state would work closely with the central authorities to implement effective programs and services.
Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, also reaffirmed the Union Governmentโs dedication to delivering high-quality services to Divyangjan. This collaborative approach between state and central governments is crucial for creating a comprehensive support system for individuals with disabilities.
The foundation stone laying ceremony marks a significant milestone in the journey towards empowerment and inclusion for Divyangjan in Rajasthan. With the establishment of the CRC and ongoing support from the government, the future looks promising for individuals with disabilities in the region.
