As part of the 10th convocation of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, addressed the students today (February 13, 2023) in Lucknow.
According to the President, India today has the third-largest start-up ecosystem in the world. This ecosystem should be used by all educational institutions, especially universities and technical schools, to encourage research and innovation among students. They would make a significant contribution to making India a leader in the field of innovation and technology.
The President emphasized the favorable environment created for investment and business by the UP Global Investors Summit-2023, emphasizing the importance of connecting education with this favorable environment. According to her, our universities should become centers for research for the public good, a hub for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and an incubator for start-ups. Our educational institutions could also serve as messengers of social prosperity and equality by becoming the messengers of a new revolution.
During his remarks, the President stated that Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar believed that a university’s fundamental duty is to provide education to the poor and needy. In his opinion, an educational institution should provide quality education to all students without discrimination. She noted that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is doing commendable work for the upliftment of SC and ST students by giving them 50 percent reservations. Based on Babasaheb’s ideals, she expressed confidence that this university would continue to spread education throughout the country and state.
