Asus Launches New TUF Gaming Laptops for 2025

 

Asus has made a significant splash at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas by unveiling its refreshed lineup of TUF gaming laptops. This new collection includes three models: the TUF Gaming A16, the TUF Gaming F16, and the brand-new TUF Gaming A18, which is the first 18-inch model in the TUF series. Each laptop is designed to deliver high performance, equipped with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPUs. The new TUF gaming laptops are powered by a mix of AMD and Intel chipsets, supporting up to 32GB of RAM and a maximum of 2TB of SSD storage. While the specifications are impressive, Asus has yet to announce pricing details for these models.

This launch follows the introduction of updated models in the Asus Strix Scar, ROG Strix G, ROG Zephyrus G14, and Zephyrus G16 series, which were revealed just a day earlier at CES. The new TUF lineup aims to cater to gamers looking for powerful and reliable machines that can handle demanding tasks and gaming experiences.

Asus TUF Gaming A18 Specifications

The TUF Gaming A18 (FA808) stands out as the first 18-inch laptop in Asus’s TUF series. It features a stunning 2.5K resolution WQXGA IPS display, boasting a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. The screen offers a 240Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 500 nits, making it ideal for gaming and multimedia consumption. The display also supports Dynamic Display Switching (DDS) and Nvidia G-Sync technology, ensuring smooth visuals during fast-paced gaming. Asus claims that the A18 provides 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which enhances color accuracy and vibrancy.

In terms of dimensions, the A18 measures 3.99 x 2.83 x 1.89 cm and weighs 2.6 kg, making it relatively portable for an 18-inch laptop. The device features a single-zone RGB Mini LED backlight chiclet keyboard, complete with full-size arrow keys for comfortable gaming sessions. Under the hood, the A18 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor, paired with up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM operating at 5600MHz. For storage, users can opt for up to 2TB of M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, ensuring ample space for games and applications.

Connectivity options on the A18 are robust, featuring a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a USB 4.0 port with DisplayPort support, USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, an RJ45 LAN port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring fast and reliable wireless connections. Additional features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, two-way AI noise cancellation, and a 1080p IR camera with Windows Hello for secure logins. The A18 is backed by a 90Wh battery and comes with a 240W adapter for efficient power delivery.

Asus TUF Gaming A16 and F16 Specifications

The Asus TUF Gaming A16 (FA608) and F16 (FX608) models share many specifications, with the primary difference being the processor options. Both laptops feature 16-inch WQXGA IPS screens with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. They offer a 165Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing an immersive viewing experience. The peak brightness of 400 nits ensures that the display remains clear and vibrant in various lighting conditions.

Like the A18, both the A16 and F16 models come equipped with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPUs, making them suitable for gaming and graphic-intensive tasks. They also support up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, allowing for quick load times and ample space for games and applications. The laptops are designed with second-generation Arc Flow fans, which help maintain optimal temperatures during heavy workloads, ensuring consistent performance.

The connectivity options and battery capacities for the A16 and F16 are identical to those of the A18. However, the key differentiator lies in the processors. The A16 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor, while the F16 can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX chipset. This flexibility allows users to choose the model that best fits their performance needs and preferences.
