In the village of Pazina, more than 50 farmers have implemented innovative net fencing techniques to safeguard their crops against wild animals. This initiative, spearheaded by local volunteer Meena with support from Ambuja Cements, aims at boosting agricultural productivity. As a result of these efforts, the farmers have collectively generated ₹23,000 in business through the local Farmer Producer Organization (FPO), signaling a positive shift towards more diversified farming practices.
Transforming Education at GCPS Chandi
Meanwhile, in the realm of education, a second-grade student at GCPS Chandi has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once labeled as “feeble-minded,” this young boy has found his footing and confidence, thanks to ongoing support from a dedicated community volunteer. His newfound engagement in classroom activities reflects Ambuja Cements’ unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment for rural children.
Revitalizing Irrigation in Barayali
In another impactful initiative, Ambuja Cements, in collaboration with NABARD, has successfully revived a long-defunct irrigation channel in Barayali. This rejuvenation project involved the installation of a 550-meter pipeline and moisture conservation strategies, restoring irrigation to 3 hectares of land. The results have been profound, benefitting 22 households by enabling triple cropping cycles, thus significantly increasing both farm incomes and dairy production.
These various initiatives underscore Ambuja Cements’ ongoing dedication to promoting sustainable and community-driven development in Himachal Pradesh.
