The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated Kidambi Srikanth for winning a Silver Medal at World Championships 2021 in Badminton.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said.

“Congratulations to @srikidambi for winning a historic Silver Medal. This win will inspire several sportspersons and further interest in badminton.”

India has first-ever men’s singles finalist at the World Championships.  In men’s single, Loh Kean Yew won gold, Kidambi Srikanth won silver. Whereas Anders Antonsen and Lakshya Sen from India won Broze.

The 2021 BWF World Championships, also known as TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2021 (for sponsorship reasons) is a badminton tournament which took place from 12 — 19 December 2021 at Palacio de los Deportes Carolina Marín in Huelva, Spain.

Singapore had its first gold medal — through Loh Kean Yew, World champion. Loh Kean Yewis is 24-year-old sportsman is crowned world champion of  TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2021.
