Users can easily access this feature by opening a supported application and navigating to any screen or content. By using the shortcut Option + Space, they can activate a small text-field view of the app. Once activated, ChatGPT can see what the user sees, allowing for a more interactive experience. Users can then pose questions using text prompts or the Advanced Voice Mode, and the chatbot will provide relevant responses. For instance, if a user highlights a specific section of text or code and asks, “how to make this better,” ChatGPT will understand the context and offer constructive suggestions.

While OpenAI refers to this new capability as an agentic feature, it is primarily vision-based. The term “agentic” implies that the chatbot can act on behalf of the user, but in this case, it requires permission to access the applications.
