MSME Highlights Integrity with Vigilance Awareness Week 2026

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) marked Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 from October 26 to November 1. This observance aligns with the Central Vigilance Commission’s guidelines and revolves around the theme “Probity for Prosperity” (सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि). To bolster its commitment, the Ministry initiated a three-month preventive vigilance campaign from August 17 to November 16, focusing on swift resolution of pending complaints, capacity-building, digital initiatives, and effective contract management.

Integrity Pledge and Active Participation

The week commenced with an Integrity Pledge led by Shri Bharat Khera, Secretary of the Ministry, at Kartavya Bhawan-3 in New Delhi. Over 500 officials, partaking in both virtual and in-person formats, pledged to uphold integrity, transparency, and probity in public service, reaffirming their values and responsibilities.

Engaging Competitions Foster Awareness

To enhance understanding of ethical conduct within official duties, the Ministry organized Quiz and Slogan Writing competitions on October 26. These contests saw enthusiastic participation, reflecting a strong commitment to the principles of integrity and transparency among officials.

Culminating Event Celebrates Vigilance Initiatives

The culmination of Vigilance Awareness Week took place on October 30, where more than 300 officials joined the event through hybrid participation. The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) presented insights into the preventive vigilance initiatives launched during the three-month campaign. The Secretary also recognized the winners of the Quiz and Slogan Writing competitions, emphasizing the significance of adhering to values that promote accountability and integrity.

Performing Arts Promotes Ethical Conduct

Adding to the week’s events, a Nukkad Natak (street play) by the National School of Drama was staged on October 30, reinforcing the theme “Probity for Prosperity.” The performance illustrated the importance of adhering to Conduct Rules, continuous knowledge enhancement, and the effective use of whistleblower mechanisms to combat corruption. This engaging presentation captivated over 300 officials from various Ministries and Departments.

Commitment to Transparency and Accountability

Through the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 and the ongoing preventive vigilance campaign, the Ministry of MSME reiterated its dedication to enhancing transparency, accountability, and integrity within governance structures.
