India Launches Workshop on Advanced eFiling System for Justice

The Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice in India is set to host an informative workshop titled “eFiling 3.0: From Process to Practice”. Scheduled for November 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Hall No. 5 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, this initiative aims to familiarize government officials with the enhanced eFiling 3.0 platform, a significant step in the ongoing eCourts Mission Mode Project. The workshop reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the judicial process through technology.

Government Officials and Key Features

Attendees will include esteemed officials such as Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Law and Justice, along with members of the Supreme Court’s eCommittee. This gathering emphasizes the importance of embracing digital solutions within the legal framework.

Technical Insights and Discussions

The workshop is designed to offer insightful technical sessions led by experts from the National Informatics Centre (NIC). Key topics will cover:

  • The overall functionality of eCourts and the applications and services available under this innovative project.
  • An introduction to the eCourts Single Sign-On (SSO) and the services provided through the eCourts Mobile App.
  • Details about eFiling 3.0, including its various features and benefits tailored for Government Pleaders and departments.
  • An open forum for discussion, allowing participating officers to engage and share perspectives.

Advancing Digital Justice

The third phase of the eCourts Project aims to establish a fully digital and paperless court system that prioritizes citizen-centric judicial eServices. Recognizing that government ministries and departments are significant contributors to court-related litigation, the initiative encourages these entities to adopt eFiling practices, thereby improving operational efficiency and lessening the dependency on traditional court processes.

Commitment to Modern Justice Delivery

This workshop is a testament to the Government of India’s dedication to creating a modern, accessible, and technology-driven justice delivery system. By strengthening the integration of technology within the judiciary, the government seeks to foster a more effective and user-friendly legal environment.
