Lakadbaggha 2 Delays Global Release to Early 2027, Sidesteps Ramayana Showdown
Anshuman Jha’s highly anticipated film, Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business, will no longer hit theaters worldwide on November 6, 2026. The sequel’s release has been postponed to early 2027 as the filmmakers aim for a broader theatrical rollout. This decision comes in light of the film’s original release date coinciding with the launch of Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana.
World Premiere in Belgium
Despite the shift in its global release, Lakadbaggha 2 will still have its World Premiere in Belgium on November 7, as part of the Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival. The film has been selected for the festival’s program, marking its first public presentation. The change in plans allows the team to strategize for a larger international release.
The filmmakers expressed their excitement about the premiere, stating, “We are thrilled to be premiering Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business during Diwali week in Belgium at Razor Reel Flanders. We are looking at a grander worldwide theatrical release in early 2027 for the sequel, giving the film the opportunity to reach audiences on a larger scale.” Additionally, the film is expected to be showcased at the American Film Market in November, where the team will explore distribution opportunities in North America for 2027.
Re-release of the First Film
In preparation for the sequel’s eventual release, the makers of Lakadbaggha will reintroduce the first film to select cinemas across India in November. This re-release will provide audiences with a chance to revisit the story of Arjun Bakshi, the central character of the franchise.
The producers shared, “In the meantime, we will be re-releasing Lakadbaggha Part 1 in select cinemas this November onwards, so audiences can revisit the birth story of our animal-lover vigilante franchise before Arjun Bakshi returns for his next adventure.”
With Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business now targeting a worldwide theatrical release in early 2027, fans can look forward to enjoying the original film in theaters this November.
