India and UK Unite for Healthcare Innovation at Indo-UK Conclave 2026
In a bold move to enhance global healthcare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State for Ayush and the Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, stressed the vital role traditional medicine can play in preventive healthcare. Speaking at the inauguration of the second edition of the Indo-UK Health Conclave 2026 in New Delhi, he highlighted that the integration of traditional systems of medicine with scientific research, quality standards, and clinical evidence can significantly improve well-being worldwide.
Emphasis on Training and Integration
The two-day event, themed “Bridging Healthcare, Education and Innovation,” is organized by Marengo Asia Hospitals alongside the BAPIO Training Academy. It assembles healthcare professionals, academics, and representatives from both India and the United Kingdom to share knowledge and foster partnerships.
During his opening address, Minister Jadhav welcomed a new initiative focused on training and capacity building for Ayush professionals. He pointed out that structured education and practical training can elevate the role of traditional medicine in promoting health.
New Certificate Courses Launched
This initiative introduces two six-month certificate courses aimed at Ayush graduates and postgraduates: the Certificate in Acute Care & Emergency Support and the Certificate in Lifestyle Health & Well-Being Counselling & Practice. These programs are designed to enhance clinical-support skills and bolster preventive health measures through comprehensive teaching and supervised training.
Strengthening International Collaboration
Highlighting the strengths of both nations, Minister Jadhav noted how the UK’s advancements in clinical governance and patient safety, combined with India’s expertise in technology and healthcare delivery, could lead to more effective systems. He expressed hope that the collaboration would yield long-lasting partnerships and tangible results for both countries’ healthcare frameworks.
