Bipasha Basu Turns to Tukaram Mundhe for Help After Discovering Worms in Protein Powder

Actor Bipasha Basu has raised serious concerns regarding a potential contamination issue with Isopure protein powder. On Thursday, she took to Instagram Stories to share a video that showed what she claimed were tiny worms inside a newly opened jar of the product. This alarming revelation has sparked discussions about food safety and hygiene standards in Maharashtra.
Allegations of Contamination
In her video, Bipasha displayed what appeared to be a small worm on her finger, asserting that there were several others present in the container. “This Isopure is full of small worms. Tiny, tiny worms. The new dabba that we’ve opened,” she stated while revealing the contents of the jar. “These are the worms inside it, full of it,” she further alleged, drawing attention to the disturbing find.
Bipasha’s post comes at a time when food safety and hygiene concerns are under increased scrutiny in Maharashtra. She tagged Tukaram Mundhe, the Commissioner of Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in her Instagram Story, appealing for his intervention. “@tukaram ias You are our only hope .. So we don’t get spoilt or adulterated stuff in everything we purchase,” she wrote, emphasizing the need for consumer protection.
Tukaram Mundhe’s Food Safety Crackdown
Bipasha’s decision to reach out to Tukaram Mundhe is significant, given his reputation for strict enforcement of food safety regulations in the state. Mundhe has been actively involved in inspections and actions concerning food hygiene across various establishments, earning him a reputation as a “real-life Singham” on social media.
The FDA’s rigorous approach to food safety has been a topic of conversation recently. Salman Khan also made a light-hearted reference to Mundhe while promoting a friend’s new cafe, The Tuck Shop at Savio’s in Bandra. In his video, he humorously warned, “Refill my coffee ya please. Price mat badhana, quality maintain karna. Hygiene maintained, or I will send HIM and it’s done, sis.” Although he did not mention Mundhe by name, the implication was clear, highlighting the commissioner’s strict stance on hygiene.
Awaiting Official Response
Bipasha’s alarming post has now shifted the focus to the alleged contamination of a packaged protein product. As of now, there has been no official response or action from the Maharashtra FDA regarding her complaint. The situation raises important questions about consumer safety and the integrity of food products available in the market.
