Krishnavataram: Part 1 Teams Up with World Forum for Art and Culture to Boost Global Presence
Krishnavataram: Part 1 – Hridayam, the inaugural installment of the anticipated Krishnavataram trilogy, is gearing up for a significant international rollout. This expansion follows a strategic partnership between Creativeland Studios and the World Forum for Art and Culture (WFAC), the global cultural arm of The Art of Living. The collaboration was officially announced on Janmashtami, a day of great significance, in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of The Art of Living.
Collaboration Details
As part of this partnership, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed, which will see Gurudev guiding the team on the film’s global presentation and the development of the trilogy as a whole. The immediate goal is to broaden the reach of Krishnavataram: Part 1 – Hridayam through a more extensive theatrical release. The film aims to connect with Indian diaspora communities and audiences across various markets, offering versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar shared his insights on the film’s vision, stating, “Krishna means the most attractive the Self. It is the divinity that is the most attractive; the energy that pulls everything to it. When you realize your life and the whole world is just a Leela (play), then Krishna is born inside you.” This perspective underscores the film’s thematic depth and cultural significance.
Producer’s Vision
Producer Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to introduce the film’s story and cultural themes to audiences beyond India. He remarked, “With the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has nurtured the entire world with his grace and transformed the lives of millions, this film finds its best place at the feet of Gurudev. With Krishnavataram, we take pride in taking every bit of Indian culture to the world and presenting our cultural beliefs, which are a fundamental part of our very existence. Our vision is to build Krishnavataram into a global cultural movement that celebrates cinema, art, and legacy.”
Exploring New Formats
The collaboration is not limited to the film alone. The makers have indicated plans to explore various formats beyond the theatrical release, including series, music, live experiences, games, education, and other cultural initiatives. WFAC, founded in September 2020 under The Art of Living, aims to unite artists, performers, and art enthusiasts globally. The organization operates under Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s vision of “One World Family” and the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
This partnership with Creativeland Studios is expected to provide a platform for exploring Krishna’s story through diverse contemporary cultural and artistic expressions while maintaining its roots in Indian traditions. The international theatrical expansion of Krishnavataram: Part 1 – Hridayam marks the first step in this collaboration, as the filmmakers continue to work on the larger Krishnavataram trilogy.
