Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff Address Vimal Pan Masala FDA Notice, Shah Rukh Khan Remains Silent
Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff have officially submitted their responses to the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding the ongoing controversy linked to their involvement in a Vimal advertisement. In contrast, Shah Rukh Khan, who also received a show cause notice, has yet to respond to the regulatory body. This situation has sparked significant discussion about celebrity endorsements and their implications.

According to a report from CNN, both Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff have provided their replies to the Maharashtra FDA. However, the specifics of their responses have not been made public, as the matter is still under legal scrutiny. The controversy centers around a Vimal advertisement featuring the three actors, which promotes the brand’s Elaichi variants. The FDA has raised concerns that this advertisement may indirectly promote pan masala, a product that has faced regulatory restrictions.
The FDA’s show cause notice indicated, “Upon examination of the said advertisement, it prima facie appears that the advertisement promotes the Vimal brand, which is mainly associated with Pan Masala, a product prohibited for manufacture, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale in the State of Maharashtra for a period of one year, with effect from the date specified in the Prohibition Order dated the 13th July, 2026, issued by the Commissioner of Food Safety, Maharashtra State, under Section 30(2)(a) of the FSS Act, 2006.”
Delivery of Notices
The notices were reportedly delivered to the actors at different locations. Ajay Devgn received his notice at his residence in Juhu, while Shah Rukh Khan was served at his home, Mannat, in Bandra. Tiger Shroff received his notice at the office of Tiger Shroff Productions LLP. This distribution of notices has drawn attention to the ongoing debate surrounding celebrity endorsements, particularly those linked to products like pan masala and surrogate advertising.
Despite the heightened scrutiny, the three actors have refrained from making any public statements regarding the show cause notices or their responses to the FDA. As of now, the details of Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff’s replies remain undisclosed, and Shah Rukh Khan’s response is still awaited.
