Industry Legends Unite for Malamaal Weekly 2: Subhash Kale and Chandraprakash Jain Reveal Exciting Collaboration

Bollywood Hungama has confirmed that the much-anticipated sequel to the beloved comedy “Malamaal Weekly” is officially in the works. Amit Joshi, known for his work on “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” (2024), has been signed on as the director. Recent reports have revealed an impressive ensemble cast, including Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Parineeti Chopra, Shilpa Shirodkar, Fardeen Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Elvish Yadav, all set to join this exciting comic caper.

Major Production Partnership

In a significant development, Bollywood Hungama has learned that producer Subhash Kale, the founder of Camera Take Films and Vikrant Studio, has formed a strategic partnership with veteran film financier and producer S Chandraprakash Jain of Sri Mishri Productions. This collaboration aims to elevate “Malamaal Weekly 2” to unprecedented heights in terms of production scale.

A source close to the project shared, “Malamaal Weekly 2 is being mounted on a significantly larger and grander canvas compared to the original. The makers wanted a rock-solid production and financial backbone behind a project of this magnitude.” Subhash Kale, who has demonstrated his technical expertise on major blockbusters like “Padmaavat” (2018) and “Stree” (2018), has teamed up with trade titan S Chandraprakash Jain. Their collaboration is poised to create one of the biggest commercial comedy setups in recent times.

A Legacy of Success

S Chandraprakash Jain is a legendary figure in the film industry, having financed over 1,800 feature films across both South Indian and Hindi cinema. His production credits include blockbusters like Thalapathy Vijay’s “Thalaivaa” (2013). Meanwhile, Subhash Kale’s companies, Camera Take Films and Vikrant Studio, have been crucial in providing high-end post-production, line production, and camera services for hits such as “Padmaavat,” “Kedarnath” (2018), “Stree,” “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” (2022), and the upcoming films “Shaitaan” (2024) and “Khel Khel Mein” (2024).

The source added, “This association is unmatched in every sense. On one side, Subhash Kale brings advanced AI workflows, VFX, and top-tier post and line-production capabilities to the table; on the other hand, S Chandraprakash Jain brings decades of trade experience and a deep distribution network.” The team is aiming for a spectacular theatrical release with high-grade production values.

Upcoming Projects

In addition to “Malamaal Weekly 2,” Subhash Kale’s banner is managing an impressive lineup of high-profile projects. These include “The Confession,” starring Nana Patekar, “Bhagam Bhag 2,” featuring Akshay Kumar, and a biopic on V Shantaram, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tamannaah Bhatia.

With a star-studded cast and a formidable partnership between Camera Take Films and Sri Mishri Productions, “Malamaal Weekly 2” is set to be one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year.
