New Judges Appointed to High Courts Across India

The President of India has made significant judicial appointments, designating a number of advocates and judicial officers as judges in prominent High Courts. This move, authorized under the Constitution and following consultations with the Chief Justice of India, reinforces the government’s commitment to strengthening the judiciary by bringing in fresh talent.

Madras High Court Appointments

A total of six advocates have been appointed as judges in the Madras High Court, marking a notable expansion of the court’s capacity to handle legal matters. The appointed judges are:

  • Govindarajan Krishnaswamy
  • Rajnish Pathiyil
  • Ramesh Natarajan
  • G.K. Muthukumaar
  • Ramakrishnan Rajesh Vivekananthan

Additionally, six advocates will serve as additional judges in the Madras High Court. They include:

  • Raveekumar Sankaranarayanan
  • Dilip Kumar Nagarajan
  • Ellappan Manoharan
  • Dr. P. Murugan
  • Smt. M. D. Sumathi
  • Smt. S. Alli

Also among the new appointees are four judicial officers who have been named as additional judges. They are:

  • Smt. C. Thirumagal
  • Shanmugam Karthikeyan
  • Murugesan Baluchamy
  • N. Gunasekaran

Calcutta High Court Additions

The Calcutta High Court will welcome eight new additional judges, enhancing its judicial operations. The advocates appointed include:

  • Aryak Dutt
  • Atarup Banerjee
  • Sandip Kumar De
  • Partha Pratim Roy
  • Sudip Deb
  • Anuj Singh
  • Arjun Ray Mukherjee
  • Rishad Medora

Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh High Courts

In the Karnataka High Court, eight advocates have been appointed as additional judges, contributing to the court’s effectiveness. The newly appointed judges are:

  • Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa
  • Smt. Hema Kulkarni
  • Subramanya Rangarao
  • Vivekananda Thadagavadi Prakash
  • Pramod Bakkeswara
  • Shanthi Bhushan Hombe Gowda

Finally, Amit Lahoti has been appointed as an additional judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court, further strengthening the judicial framework in that region.
