Empowering Dreams: Financial Aid Transforms Education for OBC Student

Higher education serves as a vital stepping stone for young individuals aspiring to build fulfilling careers and contribute to national development. However, for many talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, financial constraints can pose a significant barrier to accessing quality education.

Telu Jhansi Vijay Krishna, a 25-year-old MBA student from Karnataka, exemplifies how financial support can alter the course of a student’s educational journey. As a member of the NC-OBC community, Vijay Krishna received assistance through the “Top-Class Education in College for OBC, EBC and DNT Students” scheme, implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This support has allowed him to pursue his MBA with renewed confidence and dedication.

Overcoming Challenges Through Education

Vijay Krishna hails from a family that prioritizes education despite facing financial struggles. Throughout his academic journey, he grappled with the high costs associated with education, skill development, and career preparation. In addition to financial hardships, he encountered societal pressures and mental barriers tied to pursuing higher education as a member of an NC-OBC background.

Undeterred by these obstacles, Vijay Krishna is committed to honing his professional skills and establishing a meaningful career. His long-term goal is to contribute to India’s economic and social progress, particularly through entrepreneurship and startups. Supported by his family, Vijay Krishna’s motivation to grow academically and personally has remained strong, even amid financial challenges.

Financial Support Makes a Difference

Recognizing the significance of enabling students from OBC, EBC, and DNT communities to access quality education, Vijay Krishna received financial assistance amounting to ₹10.27 lakh on April 23, 2026. This financial aid significantly lightened the load of educational expenses for him.

Expressing his gratitude, Vijay Krishna stated, “I am humbled to thank Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for extending financial assistance that has helped me to continue my higher education with greater confidence and focus.” The scholarship has allowed him to reduce nearly 50 percent of his educational loan burden, demonstrating the immense relief it has provided.

With decreased financial pressure, Vijay Krishna is now better positioned to concentrate on his MBA studies and professional growth. The assistance from the government has not only eased his financial worries but has also empowered him to pursue his long-term aspirations more vigorously.

The story of Telu Jhansi Vijay Krishna highlights how targeted educational financial aid can enable students to triumph over economic barriers. By reducing the financial strain associated with higher education, such schemes play a crucial role in equipping young talents from OBC, EBC, and DNT communities with the skills they need to contribute meaningfully to India’s socio-economic advancement.
