Now, Bollywood Hungama has learned that this Rajkumar Hirani-directed blockbuster is set to make its return to theaters, thanks to NH Studioz.
NH Studioz Acquires Major Film Catalogue
A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama that NH Studioz, led by Shri Narendra Hirawat and Shreyans Hirawat, has successfully secured the rights to a significant collection of films from Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films. This acquisition is reported to be one of the largest in recent times, with a deal valued at a staggering three-figure crore amount.
The catalogue acquired by NH Studioz includes several notable titles such as Khamosh, Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, Kareeb, and Munna Bhai MBBS. Among these, 3 Idiots stands out as a major highlight, alongside other films like PK, Sanju, and Shikara.
3 Idiots Set for Grand Re-Release
As part of its strategic plans, NH Studioz is preparing to re-release 3 Idiots in cinemas on September 4, 2026. This timing is particularly significant as it coincides with Teachers’ Day week, aligning perfectly with the film’s themes of student life and education. The re-release also marks the birthday of producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, which falls on September 5, the same day as Teachers’ Day.
