Delhi’s Blood Donation Camp Celebrates World Blood Donor Day

In a heartwarming initiative to commemorate World Blood Donor Day, the Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr. CCA) in Delhi joined forces with the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to host a blood donation camp. The event, which took place at the Pr. CCA’s headquarters in Sanchar Lekha Bhawan, aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and bolster the reserves in local hospitals. Ms. Asha Rungta, the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, officially inaugurated the camp, encouraging all staff members to participate in this noble cause.

Collective Efforts to Save Lives

Themed “One drop of humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives,” the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and officials of the Pr. CCA, Delhi. Their willingness to donate blood reflects a strong commitment to humanitarian efforts, emphasizing the collective responsibility to help those in need. The AIIMS Blood Bank team provided comprehensive support, ensuring a smooth and safe blood collection process.

Health Safety and Support for Donors

To maintain high standards of safety and health, the AIIMS team conducted thorough health screenings and donor counseling on-site. All blood collection procedures adhered strictly to clinical and biosafety protocols. Donors were not only provided with refreshments after their contributions but were also monitored in a dedicated recovery area to ensure their well-being. This careful attention to donor health highlights the camp’s commitment to safety and care.

A Recognition of Generosity

The event concluded with an official presentation where the AIIMS Blood Bank unit honored the Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts with a certificate of successful completion. This acknowledgment serves to commend their essential role in facilitating blood donations, fostering greater awareness of the importance of blood donation in saving lives.

Such initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing community health and creating a culture of voluntary blood donation. By joining together for this cause, the Pr. CCA and AIIMS have set an inspiring example, motivating individuals to contribute positively to society.
