Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, a proud alumnus of the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, was commissioned into the Armoured Corps in December 1986. Throughout his military career, he has displayed remarkable versatility and leadership across various operational and strategic roles, greatly enhancing the effectiveness and modernization of the Indian Army.
Command Experience Across the Board
General Seth has commanded forces at every level, demonstrating his capabilities in diverse operational contexts. His notable command experiences span from leading an Armoured Regiment in the Desert Sector to heading an Armoured Brigade in the Western Theatre, and leading a Counter-Insurgency Force in Jammu and Kashmir. As a Lieutenant General, he commanded the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, recognized as one of the Indian Army’s elite strike formations.
After his tenure commanding the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, he took charge as the General Officer Commanding of the Delhi Area, where he oversaw significant military engagements and ceremonial duties both domestically and internationally.

Having elevated to the position of Army Commander, General Seth skillfully led both the South Western and Southern Commands, thereby becoming one of the few officers to oversee two operational Army Commands.
