India Gears Up for Haj 2026: Comprehensive Review in Madinah

Madinah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), January 6: In a significant move towards ensuring a seamless experience for Indian Haj pilgrims, the Government of India has initiated proactive measures for Haj 2026. Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), recently visited the Indian Haj Pilgrims Office (IHPO) in Madinah to assess the arrangements in place for the upcoming pilgrimage.

During his visit, Dr. Kumar conducted an on-site evaluation of essential facilities, such as accommodations and medical services, aimed at guaranteeing comfort and safety for the pilgrims. This trip was part of an official delegation to Saudi Arabia that focused on reviewing Haj preparations and engaging in bilateral discussions with representatives from the Saudi Haj Ministry. Accompanying Dr. Kumar were key officials, including Shri Fahad Ahmad Khan Suri, Consul General of India, Jeddah, and other prominent figures from MoMA.

As part of the visit, Haj Consul Ms. Sadaf Choudary provided updates to the delegation regarding the arrangements being organized for Indian pilgrims. She highlighted the collaborative efforts with local Saudi authorities to ensure smooth and effective coordination.

Dr. Kumar reiterated the Indian Government’s commitment to supporting Haj pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of early planning, thorough cooperation with Saudi officials, and the ongoing supervision of on-ground preparations. This dedication aims to provide a fulfilling and trouble-free pilgrimage experience.

Additionally, Dr. Kumar showcased the Ministry’s innovative approach by emphasizing the integration of technology into the pilgrimage process. The Haj Suvidha App, designed to offer transparent and user-friendly services, stands as a testament to the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing convenience for Indian Hajis, ensuring they have access to essential information and services at their fingertips.

This visit underlines the Indian Government’s ongoing efforts to ensure that Haj 2026 is not only safe but also spiritually enriching for pilgrims making the journey from India.
