Motherson Electronic Components Private Limited (MECPL), a key subsidiary within Samvardhana Motherson International Limited, has recently secured significant incentives under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme. This development positions MECPL among the beneficiaries of the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), as announced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The approved incentives, which will extend over six years from FY 26 to FY 31, entail a substantial cumulative investment of ₹1,900 crores. This funding is expected to facilitate the creation of more than 5,000 jobs at MECPL’s manufacturing facility located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. The initiative not only contributes to local employment but is also poised to stimulate overall economic growth in the region.
