National Workshop to Enhance India’s Geospatial Ecosystem

The Survey of India, under the Department of Science & Technology, is set to host the National Workshop on Strengthening of Geospatial Ecosystem titled “Geospatial Mission: An Enabler of Viksit Bharat” on December 17, 2025. This significant event will take place at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, and aims to unite policymakers, technologists, industry leaders, and domain experts to discuss transformative innovations in India’s geospatial landscape.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Honourable Minister of State in charge of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, will inaugurate the workshop as the Chief Guest. His address is expected to emphasize the government’s dedication to enhancing India’s geospatial capabilities and the importance of collaborative efforts in harnessing the full potential of this field, which is rapidly evolving.

The National Geospatial Mission, introduced in the Union Budget for 2025-26, underscores the government’s promise to incorporate advanced geospatial technologies into vital sectors including urban planning, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure development.
