AIIA Goa Celebrates Fourth Foundation Day with New Milestones

On December 11, 2025, the All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Goa marked its fourth Foundation Day, celebrating its growth into a premier academic and clinical institution for Ayurveda in the country. Established in 2022 and inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the institute has rapidly expanded its influence in the realms of Ayurvedic education, research, and patient care.

Achievements and Commitment

During the Foundation Day celebrations, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director of AIIA, emphasized the institute’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Ayurvedic healthcare. “AIIA Goa reaffirms its commitment to advancing integrative Ayurveda and contributing to the nation’s healthcare landscape through high-quality clinical services, academic excellence, and collaborative research,” he stated. The institute operates 25 specialized outpatient departments (OPDs) and serves over 800 patients daily, all of whom receive Ayurvedic treatments at no cost. Since its inception, AIIA has seen more than 5.25 lakh OPD visits, 31,000 inpatient admissions, and close to 77,200 Panchakarma procedures, alongside 135,000 radiology and laboratory tests.

Accreditation and Academic Growth

Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Kadam, Dean of AIIA Goa, revealed that the institute recently achieved accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), a recognition that highlights its dedication to quality and patient safety. Currently, AIIA Goa is home to 400 undergraduate students and has expanded its postgraduate programs, enrolling 49 scholars across various specialties, in addition to offering courses in Ayurvedic dietetics and Panchakarma therapy.

Collaborative Partnerships and Future Directions

AIIA Goa has also actively pursued partnerships to bolster research and educational initiatives. Collaborations with organizations such as the Department of Tourism, CSIR–NIO, BITS Pilani, and others aim to promote integrative oncology, biodiversity, wellness tourism, and healthcare innovations. Prof. Kadam highlighted these efforts as essential for the institute’s future growth.

Workshops and New Facilities

To celebrate its fourth anniversary, AIIA Goa hosted a two-day national workshop focused on developing integrative protocols for colorectal carcinoma, gathering experts to enhance evidence-based practices in integrative oncology. Additionally, the institute unveiled new facilities, including an Assessment Screening OPD, a Dental OPD, two Panchakarma theatres, and enhanced patient services. Students also participated in the celebrations through a presentation on Ayurvedic dietary principles.

The achievements and future plans discussed during the Foundation Day events underscore the institute’s significant role in advancing Ayurvedic practices in India.
