Political parties have submitted numerous claims and objections regarding the draft electoral roll, highlighting significant engagement in the electoral process. The data reveals a variety of responses from national and state parties, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in the number of Basic Local Authority (BLA) claims. The process is ongoing, with a structured approach to address these claims and ensure the integrity of the electoral roll.

Claims and Objections from National Parties

The draft electoral roll has seen substantial claims and objections from various national political parties. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) submitted one claim, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) raised 74 claims. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands out with an impressive 53,338 claims, indicating a robust engagement with the electoral process. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) submitted 899 claims, while the Indian National Congress (INC) raised 17,549 objections. Other parties, such as the National Peopleโ€™s Party (NPP), submitted seven claims. Notably, none of these claims have been disposed of yet, as the process is still underway.

The total number of claims from national parties amounts to 1,60,813, reflecting a significant level of participation in the electoral process. The electoral authorities are tasked with addressing these claims, ensuring that all objections are handled fairly and transparently.

State Parties’ Engagement in the Draft Roll

State political parties have also actively participated in the claims and objections process concerning the draft electoral roll. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) submitted 1,496 claims, while the Janata Dal (United) raised 36,550 objections. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) submitted 47,506 claims, showcasing a strong interest in the electoral process at the state level. Other parties, such as the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party, also contributed with 1,210 and 1,913 claims, respectively.

Despite the high number of claims, none have been disposed of as of yet. The electoral officials are expected to address these claims systematically, ensuring that all parties have a fair opportunity to present their cases.

Direct Claims from Electors

In addition to claims from political parties, direct claims and objections have been received from electors regarding the draft electoral roll. A total of 10,570 claims were submitted concerning the inclusion of eligible voters and the exclusion of ineligible ones. The electoral authorities have processed 127 of these claims, indicating a proactive approach to resolving issues raised by the electorate.

This direct engagement from voters emphasizes the importance of public participation in the electoral process. The authorities are committed to addressing these claims within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring that the electoral roll remains accurate and inclusive.

Forms from New Electors

The electoral process has also seen a significant number of forms submitted by new electors who have recently turned 18. A total of 54,432 forms have been received, reflecting the enthusiasm of young voters to participate in the democratic process. The authorities are currently reviewing these forms, and no disposals have occurred yet.

The inclusion of new voters is crucial for a representative democracy, and the electoral officials are dedicated to ensuring that all eligible individuals are registered. The ongoing efforts to process these forms demonstrate a commitment to facilitating voter participation and enhancing the electoral landscape.
