Metro Unveils Dino’s ‘Zamaana Lage’ with Anurag Basu at the Launch Event

Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and several other prominent Bollywood figures gathered for the grand launch of the song “Zamaana Lage” from the upcoming film Metroโ€ฆIn Dino. Directed by Anurag Basu, this film serves as a sequel to the 2007 hit Life In A Metro. Unlike its predecessor, which was set in a single city, the new film explores multiple urban landscapes, showcasing the interconnectedness of modern life across five major cities in India.

Film’s Expansive Setting

During the launch event, Anurag Basu revealed that *Metroโ€ฆIn Dino* will feature scenes set in Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and a touch of Pune. He emphasized the significance of these cities in the narrative, stating, “The story travels in all these cities. We are all connected today. Thereโ€™s not much of a distance as such in todayโ€™s times.” Basu’s vision aims to reflect the contemporary urban experience, highlighting how different cities shape the lives of their inhabitants.

Konkona Sen Sharma’s Emotional Tribute

Konkona Sen Sharma, the only actor returning from the original film, shared her poignant memories of working alongside the late Irrfan Khan. When asked about her feelings during the filming, she remarked, “We were just discussing that zamaane toh lagega unko bhoolne ke liye na! It happened many times.” Her emotional connection to the past was palpable, especially during a scene that evoked memories of Khan. Basu corroborated her sentiments, recalling a moment on set that brought tears to both of them, highlighting the lasting impact of their late colleague.

Remembering Lost Talents

Anurag Basu took a moment to reflect on the absence of several key figures who were integral to his filmmaking journey. He mentioned missing not only Irrfan Khan but also cinematographer Bobby Singh and art director Rajat Poddar, who have passed away. “They would have been sitting here today,” he lamented, underscoring the emotional weight carried by the cast and crew as they navigate the film’s production without their beloved colleagues.

Release Date and Anticipation

*Metroโ€ฆIn Dino* is set to hit theaters on July 4, generating excitement among fans and industry insiders alike. The film promises to deliver a rich narrative that resonates with audiences, exploring themes of connection and urban life in contemporary India. As the release date approaches, anticipation continues to build around both the film and its music, particularly the newly launched song “Zamaana Lage.”
