Intel Launches Powerful Core Ultra Processors at MWC 2025

Intel has unveiled its latest Core Ultra (Series 2) processors at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, designed to enhance business computing across laptops, desktops, and workstations. The new Core Ultra 200V series boasts impressive battery life, offering up to 20 hours on supported devices. Additionally, these processors are Copilot+ certified, enabling seamless integration with Microsoft’s AI features on Windows 11.

Enhanced Performance Across New Processor Series

At MWC 2025, Intel introduced a range of new processors, including the Core Ultra 200U, 200H, 200HX, and 200S series, alongside the innovative Core Ultra 200V series. The company highlighted significant performance improvements, particularly with the Core Ultra 7 265H chip, which reportedly delivers a remarkable 2.84 times increase in multi-core performance compared to the older Core i7-1185G7, launched in 2020. This leap in performance is further supported by Geekbench 6.3 results, showing the Core Ultra 7 265H achieving up to 1.42 times better performance in single-core tests and 2.42 times in multi-core tests.

Intel’s performance charts also indicate that the Core Ultra 7 265H outperforms the AMD Ryzen AI 7 Pro 360 by up to 15 percent. All new processors come equipped with advanced connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with Bluetooth LE Audio, and support for Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 5 ports. Additionally, Intel plans to launch its Assured Supply Chain program later this year, collaborating with major OEMs like HP and Lenovo to ensure digital supply chain verification for individual chips.

Battery Life and Targeted Applications

The Core Ultra 200V series processors are designed for thin and light commercial laptops, promising over 20 hours of battery life on compatible systems. These processors, part of the Lunar Lake architecture, are expected to power a new generation of business laptops. Meanwhile, the more robust Core Ultra 200H and Core Ultra 200HX processors will cater to high-performance commercial notebooks, while the Core Ultra 200S processors will be utilized in desktop and workstation setups.

Intel’s commitment to enhancing battery performance and processing power is evident in these new offerings, which aim to meet the demands of modern business environments. The company is positioning these processors as essential tools for productivity, enabling users to work efficiently without frequent recharging.

Availability and Future Plans

Intel has announced that commercial PCs featuring the new Core Ultra 200U, 200H, 200HX, and 200S series processors will be available by the end of March 2025. Businesses can expect to see devices from over 10 OEMs, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Microsoft’s Surface division, and Lenovo. The Core Ultra 200V series PCs are already available for purchase.

Looking ahead, Intel plans to roll out new commercial PCs equipped with the Core Ultra (Series 2) processors that include the Assured Supply Chain program, ensuring a secure supply chain for each chip. These devices are set to launch in the second half of 2025, reinforcing Intel’s commitment to providing reliable and high-performance computing solutions for businesses.
