World Food India 2025

World Food India (WFI) 2025 is set to take place from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking its fourth edition. Launched by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in 2017, WFI aims to highlight India’s diverse food culture and attract global investments. The upcoming event is expected to be the largest yet, with participation from over 90 countries and more than 2,000 exhibitors. The curtain raiser for this significant event was held on July 23, 2025, in New Delhi.

Significance of WFI 2025

World Food India has evolved into a vital platform for international stakeholders to connect and explore opportunities within India’s food processing sector. The event aims to foster collaboration among leading food processing companies, innovators, supply chain stakeholders, and equipment manufacturers. WFI 2025 will serve as a collaborative space for forming partnerships and unlocking new business opportunities between Indian and global players. The event is expected to attract tens of thousands of stakeholders from various segments of the food value chain, from producers to retailers, emphasizing India’s role as a global food hub.

Objectives and Features of WFI 2025

The primary objective of WFI 2025 is to position India as a ‘Global Food Hub’ for food processing and supply. The event will gather senior government officials, investors, and business leaders from major global and domestic food companies. It will provide a platform for stakeholders to showcase their strengths and innovations in food processing, packaging, machinery, and logistics. Key features of the event will include high-level knowledge sessions, sectoral exhibitions, B2B and B2G networking opportunities, and culinary experiences that highlight India’s rich food heritage alongside global trends in sustainability and health.

In addition to the main event, two significant international gatherings will occur concurrently: the 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit, organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), and the 24th India International Seafood Show (IISS), hosted by the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI). These events will focus on food safety standards and India’s seafood export potential, respectively.

Partner and Focus Countries

WFI 2025 will feature New Zealand and Saudi Arabia as Partner Countries, while Japan, the UAE, Vietnam, and Russia will participate as Focus Countries. This diverse representation underscores India’s growing international cooperation in the food sector. The involvement of these countries is expected to enhance bilateral relations, facilitate knowledge exchange, and create new trade and investment opportunities.

The event aligns with India’s vision of becoming a developed and globally competitive nation by 2047. By advancing the food processing sector, WFI 2025 aims to boost rural prosperity, enhance farmer incomes, and create jobs in smaller cities. The initiative emphasizes sustainability, infrastructure development, entrepreneurship, and innovation, marking a significant step toward achieving India’s long-term goals.
