As we step into 2026, Uber India has unveiled its latest report, “How India Ubered in 2025,” which showcases the remarkable growth and shifts in travel habits across the nation. This annual data analysis reveals that Indians embraced ridesharing like never before, with a significant rise in both the distance traveled and user engagement.
Impressive Growth in Distance and Usage
In 2025, Uber trips across India covered an astounding 11.6 billion kilometers, a 26.5% increase from the previous year. To put that into perspective, this distance equates to over 3.2 million journeys from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, translating to an average of 8,840 trips daily. The growing trend underscores ridesharing’s pivotal role in India’s mobility framework.
Top Cities and Rider Ratings
Kochi emerged as the standout city with the highest average rider rating of 4.91 out of 5, with an impressive 98.3% of trips rated five stars by drivers. Other notable cities include Thiruvananthapuram with an average of 4.87 and Pune at 4.83. This data reflects the courteous behavior of riders across the country.
Peak Booking Times and Popular Routes
The data illustrates that the majority of Uber trips were booked around 6:00 PM, with Fridays being the most favored day. November was identified as the peak month for travel, while December 12 recorded the highest single-day bookings. Intercity travel thrived, with routes such as Mumbai to Pune and Delhi to Agra topping the list.
Emerging Travel Trends
Uber’s mass and premium offerings also gained traction. Riders traveled a notable 365 million kilometers in electric vehicles, highlighting a shift toward environmentally friendly travel choices. Additionally, the demand for Uber Black rose, with over 34 million kilometers logged in this premium service.
Delivery and Shuttle Services Expand
In the realm of logistics, Uber Courier played an essential role, with peak delivery times between 1 PM and 3 PM, attracting 3 million first-time users in 2025.
