Bana Singh (born 6 January 1949) is an Indian soldier and a recipient of the nation’s highest gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra.

Bana Singh was born on January 6, 1949, in the village of Kadyal in Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Bana Singh joined the 8th Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI), a regiment of the Indian Army known for its gallantry. He served in various capacities within the regiment, showcasing dedication and courage in the line of duty.
Bana Singh’s most notable actions occurred during the Siachen conflict, a long-standing territorial dispute between India and Pakistan in the high-altitude region of the Siachen Glacier. Despite facing adverse weather conditions, treacherous terrain, and heavy enemy fire, Bana Singh led his team with exceptional courage and determination. Under his leadership, the post was successfully captured on June 23, 1987.
