Strategic Partnership to Enhance Aviation Technology

In a significant move towards enhancing India’s aviation technology, Three D Integrated Solutions Ltd. (Three DiS) has partnered with the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER). This collaboration aims to tackle the challenges faced by the rapidly growing Indian market in areas such as airport navigation, communication systems, and security equipment. The partnership aligns with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, promoting self-reliance in technology and innovation.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Shri Nandy Bhatia, Chairman and Managing Director of Three DiS, and Dr. P. Hanumantha Rao, Director General of SAMEER. The signing took place in the presence of key officials, including Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This collaboration marks a pivotal step in addressing the technological needs of India’s aviation sector.

The MANTHAN Platform: A Catalyst for Collaboration

The MANTHAN platform, launched on August 15, 2022, by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, serves as a crucial framework for fostering partnerships among various stakeholders in India’s science and technology ecosystem. This platform aims to facilitate collaboration between industry players, philanthropic organizations, and research entities. By creating a decentralized environment, MANTHAN encourages innovation and the development of high-tech solutions tailored to India’s unique needs.

Through this platform, Three DiS and SAMEER can work together to provide indigenous solutions for airport navigation and communication systems. Mr. Nandy Bhatia emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating that it will focus on fulfilling the requirements for indigenous design and manufacturing of advanced technologies. The collaboration aims to explore new avenues for executing projects of national significance, particularly in the aviation sector.

Industry-Government Collaboration: A New Era in Aviation Technology

The partnership between Three DiS and SAMEER represents a significant collaboration between industry and government. Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood welcomed this initiative, highlighting the importance of government-funded research organizations working alongside leading industry players. He noted that SAMEER’s capabilities have garnered trust from the industry, which is essential for developing innovative solutions.

The involvement of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) from the outset of this initiative further strengthens the collaboration. Prof. Sood urged the consortium to develop solutions in a timely manner to meet the nation’s requirements. This partnership not only aims to enhance airport navigation and communication systems but also seeks to establish a robust framework for future technological advancements in the aviation sector.

Advancing Indigenous Technologies for Airport Navigation

The focus on developing indigenous technologies is a key aspect of this partnership. Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, expressed his appreciation for the efforts aimed at creating products and solutions that meet international standards. He emphasized the government’s objective of transforming India into a product nation, particularly in the fields of airport navigation, communication, and surveillance.

Dr. P. Hanumantha Rao, Director General of SAMEER, highlighted the milestone achievement this collaboration represents. He stated that it aims to establish a Center of Excellence for collaborative research, focusing on developing fully functional systems for both civilian and defense airports. The initiative also seeks to enhance indigenous research in RF and Microwave systems, ensuring that India has secure and reliable home-grown technologies tailored for its airports.
