SIGNING OF SOP ON WHITE SHIPPING INFORMATION EXCHANGE
Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff and Admiral CG Artemio M Abu, Commander Philippine Coast Guard, signed the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for information exchange on White Shipping on Aug. 23, 2023. The SOP was signed in New Delhi during the visit of the Philippine Coast Guard commander to India.
The signing of the SOP between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Indian Navy would facilitate the operationalization of merchant shipping information exchange, which will help improve maritime safety in the region.
