Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) Gram Panchayats is discussed at CSR Conclave organized by Ministry of Rural Development

In collaboration with Transform Rural India Foundation (TRIF), Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, inaugurated today a conclave on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and private voluntary sectors to mobilize resources.

TRIF and the Ministry of Rural Development collaborated on this Conclave to leverage CSR funds. The aim of the conclave was to secure the support of MPs, corporates, and other SAGY stakeholders for the rapid transformation of SAGY general practices.

Shri Singh, Secretary, Rural Development, said “SAGY aims to develop villages in a holistic way in harmony with local potentials and the aspirations of their people by leveraging resources allocated under existing Central and State Government schemes and private voluntary and cooperative organizations.”

Corporate stakeholders are requested to cooperate and collaborate with the District administration in accordance with their respective laws and regulations regarding activities outlined in the Village Development Plan for ‘Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana GPs’ that require technical and/or financial assistance.

The Member of Parliament Shri P. V. Abdul Wahab, Shri. Dulal Chandra Goswamy, Shri Vijaya Baghel, Smt. Heena Vijaykumar Gavit and Shri Umesh Patil who attended the workshops shared their experience in mobilizing resources under SAGY and other valuable insights on SAGY implementation.

Shri. Praveen Mahato, Chief Economic Advisor, also addressed the conclave. As one of SAGY’s core strategies, he urged the participants to invest in SAGY GPs by building partnerships with private voluntary organizations, co-operatives, and academic and research institutions.

Shri. As joint secretary of MoRD, Naveen Kumar Shah explained the SAGY implementation process and how to invest in SAGY GPs and requested that the participants work collaboratively with MPs and district administrations to accelerate the transformation of SAGY GPs in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision.

Sapna Poti, Director of Strategic Alliances, and Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, has delivered speeches about technology and innovation in rural India.

To determine the way forward, a panel discussion was held on ‘Corporate Sector and Rural Development’ and ‘The role of CSR in shaping up the rural’.
