Rozgar Mela: Shri Narendra Modi distributes more than 71,000 appointment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently addressed the Rozgar Mela, a significant event aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for the youth of India. During this event, he distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed individuals in various government departments and organizations via videoconferencing. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to employment generation and aims to empower young people by providing them with meaningful opportunities to contribute to nation-building and personal growth.
A New Beginning for Thousands
In his address, Prime Minister Modi expressed his excitement about returning from Kuwait, where he engaged with Indian youth and professionals. He emphasized that this event marks a new beginning for thousands of young individuals across the country. “Your years of dreams have come true, and your hard work has paid off,” he stated. The Prime Minister congratulated the new appointees and their families, highlighting that the year 2024 is bringing new happiness and opportunities.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the government has been actively working to harness the talent of India’s youth through initiatives like Rozgar Melas. Over the past decade, there has been a focused effort to provide government jobs across various ministries and departments. He noted that in the last one and a half years alone, around 10 lakh permanent government jobs have been created, setting a remarkable record. The recruitment process is transparent, ensuring that new recruits serve the nation with dedication and integrity.
Empowering Youth for Nation-Building
The Prime Minister emphasized the crucial role of youth in the development of the nation. He reiterated India’s commitment to becoming a developed country by 2047, with policies focused on empowering talented young individuals. Initiatives such as Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Startup India, Stand-Up India, and Digital India have placed youth at the forefront of national development.
India has emerged as the world’s fifth-largest economy and the third-largest startup ecosystem. Young entrepreneurs are now launching startups with the support of a robust infrastructure. The Prime Minister noted that youth pursuing careers in sports are also benefiting from modern training facilities and tournaments. He highlighted the transformation across various sectors, including mobile manufacturing, renewable energy, organic farming, space, defense, tourism, and wellness, creating new opportunities for young people.
Education and Skill Development
Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of nurturing young talent through a modern education system. The National Education Policy (NEP) is guiding India toward a more inclusive and innovative educational framework. He pointed out that the previous education system was restrictive, but the current initiatives, such as Atal Tinkering Labs and PM-SHRI schools, foster creativity and innovation.
To address language barriers for rural youth and marginalized communities, the government has allowed learning and exams in local languages. Recruitment exams are now available in 13 languages, and quotas for youth from border areas have been increased. Special recruitment rallies for permanent government jobs have also been organized. The Prime Minister highlighted that over 50,000 youth received appointment letters for the Central Armed Police Forces, marking a significant achievement in this regard.
Focus on Rural Development and Women’s Empowerment
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the importance of rural development and women’s empowerment in creating job opportunities. He celebrated the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh, emphasizing that the government’s policies have generated new employment and self-employment opportunities in rural areas, particularly in agriculture.
Initiatives like the Gobar-Dhan Yojana, which establishes biogas plants, have created jobs while producing energy. The e-NAM scheme has connected agricultural markets, opening new avenues for employment. The establishment of nearly 9,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) has improved market access and created rural jobs. Additionally, the government is implementing a massive scheme to build thousands of grain storage warehouses, which will provide significant employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister highlighted the launch of the Bima Sakhi Yojana, which aims to provide insurance coverage to every citizen, creating numerous job opportunities in rural areas. Programs like Drone Didi and Lakhpati Didi are generating jobs in agriculture and rural sectors. He emphasized the government’s commitment to making women self-reliant across all fields, noting that thousands of women received appointment letters during the Rozgar Mela.
