Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will wave the inaugural run of the Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi on May 25 at 11am via video conference.

This will be the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand. With world-class services, it heralds a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for tourists traveling to the state. The train has been indigenous and is equipped with advanced safety features including Kavach technology.

Guided by the Prime Minister’s vision of providing cleaner public transport, Indian Railways is looking to fully electrify the rail route in the country. Moving forward in this direction, the Chief Minister will dedicate sections of the new electrified railway line in Uttarakhand. With this, the state will have its entire rail route 100% electrified. Electric-powered trains on electrified sections will increase train speeds and improve transportation capacity.
