Indian Navy has declared 2024 as the ‘Year of Naval Civilians’ to improve the administration, efficiency and well-being of Naval Civilians by addressing all facets of Civilian HR Management in a time-bound manner. Major focus areas towards maximizing administrative efficiency, digital initiatives, generic and specific training programmes and welfare activities have been identified for implementation in 2024.

In a coordinated multilateral response to the hijacking of a Sri Lankan fishing vessel, the Indian Navy in collaboration with Seychelles Defence Forces and Sri Lanka Navy successfully intercepted and rescued the hijacked vessel.

Indian Navy’s Mission responded swiftly to a maritime incident in the Arabian Sea

Indian Navy’s Mission Deployed platforms responded swiftly to a maritime incident in the Arabian Sea involving the hijacking of the flagged Vessel MV Ruen. The vessel, with 18 crew onboard, had sent a Mayday message on the UKMTO portal, PM 14 Dec 23, indicating boarding by approx six unknown personnel.

The Annual Navy Education Society (NES) Conference 2023 was held at Headquarters Gujarat, Daman & Diu Naval Area, Porbandar on 09 – 10 November 2023, chaired by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of Personnel & Chairman NES. The conference was also attended by Commodore G Rambabu, Commodore (Naval Education) & Vice Chairman NES and academic as well as administrative leadership of Navy Children Schools across the country.

4th edition of Bilateral Exercise between Indian Navy and Bangladesh Navy concluded

BONGOSAGAR

The 4th edition of Bilateral Exercise between Indian Navy and Bangladesh Navy, BONGOSAGAR-23, and the 5th edition of Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) by the two navies was conducted in the Northern Bay of Bengal from 07 – 09 Nov 2023. Ships and aircraft from both navies undertook joint patrolling along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), and subsequently conducted maritime exercises to enhance interoperability.
