New Digital Initiative Connects Indian Youth Worldwide

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is enhancing its outreach to Indian-origin youth globally with the launch of ‘Friends of MY Bharat.’ This digital initiative was introduced by Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Khadse, during the BRICS Youth Summit 2026 held in Gandhinagar. The platform aims to provide Indian-origin students and young professionals residing outside India with valuable information on nation-building activities and volunteering programs, enabling them to participate in India’s development journey, regardless of their location.
Empowering Global Indian Youth
The ‘Friends of MY Bharat’ program invites Indian youth around the world to register and share details about their local youth clubs and associations, including ongoing activities and engagement areas. This initiative offers insights into various volunteering opportunities in fields such as education, environmental conservation, health awareness, disaster relief, and cultural preservation. Through this module, young people can connect with social initiatives actively taking place across India.
Understanding India Through ‘Know Your India’
A vital feature of the platform is the ‘Know Your India’ section, designed to help Indian youth abroad strengthen their ties with their homeland. This section curates content focusing on India’s rich culture, heritage, history, tourism, and notable leaders. Moreover, it highlights significant MY Bharat initiatives and programs that play a critical role in India’s youth-led development, encouraging a broader global engagement.
Building a Global Youth Ecosystem
‘Friends of MY Bharat’ marks a meaningful stride towards creating a sustained ecosystem for global youth engagement. By connecting Indian-origin youth with their roots, the initiative facilitates their contributions to India’s growth from anywhere in the world. It harnesses the talents, creativity, and aspirations of young Indians globally, aligning with the vision for a developed India, or Viksit Bharat.
