NCC Republic Day Camp 2025: A Historic Gathering

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is gearing up for its Republic Day Camp 2025, which promises to be a landmark event. With a record participation of 2,361 cadets, including 917 girls, this camp marks the largest gathering in the history of the NCC. The camp will take place in Delhi Cantt. and will run for an entire month. This initiative aims to foster camaraderie among cadets from diverse backgrounds while showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage.

Record Participation and Diverse Representation

The NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 is set to be a vibrant assembly of youth from across India. Among the participants, 114 cadets hail from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, while 178 represent the North East Region. Additionally, approximately 135 cadets from 18 friendly countries will join the camp under the Youth Exchange Programme. This diverse representation underscores the NCC’s commitment to promoting national integration and international friendship.

During the camp, cadets will engage in various activities, including cultural and training competitions. These activities are designed to enhance personal development and instill a strong value system among the participants. The camp will also attract numerous dignitaries, including the Vice-President, Defence Minister, Chief Minister of Delhi, Chief of Defence Staff, and the three Service Chiefs. A marching contingent from the NCC will proudly represent the organization during the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path on January 26, 2025. The camp’s activities will culminate with the Prime Minister’s Rally on January 27, 2025, further highlighting the significance of this event.

Celebrating Achievements and Growth

In a recent press conference, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh reflected on the organization’s achievements over the past year. He noted that the NCC has successfully completed 76 years of service as the world’s largest uniformed youth organization. The strength of NCC cadets has grown from 1.7 million to 2 million, with 40% of them being girls. This growth is a testament to the NCC’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

The NCC conducted 1,162 Annual Training Camps, six Special National Integration Camps, and 33 Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camps in 2024. These initiatives aim to promote integration and strengthen bonds among cadets from various regions and cultures. The DG highlighted several notable activities, including special mountaineering expeditions, sailing expeditions, and historical reenactments. These events not only foster teamwork and resilience but also instill a sense of pride in India’s heritage.

Community Engagement and Social Responsibility

The NCC has also made significant contributions to community service and social responsibility. In 2024, cadets participated in various government initiatives, including planting over nine lakh trees as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign. More than eight lakh cadets took part in the International Day of Yoga, while over four lakh cadets engaged in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to promote cleanliness.

Additionally, the NCC organized blood donation camps, resulting in the donation of 40,000 units of blood to save lives. Cadets have also received training in contemporary subjects such as cyber awareness and disaster management. Visits to prestigious institutions like the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) have further enriched their learning experience.

The NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 is not just an event; it is a celebration of youth, culture, and community service. As cadets come together to showcase their skills and values, they embody the spirit of unity and patriotism that the NCC stands for.
