Nana Patekar’s Autopsy Reveals Heart Attack Linked to Blood Clot in Coronary Artery

Veteran actor Nana Patekar has passed away at the age of 75, following a heart attack caused by a blood clot blocking the left main coronary artery. The confirmation came from a postmortem examination conducted after his death on October 8. A senior doctor at Goa Medical College and Hospital shared the findings, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the beloved actor’s untimely demise.

Cause of Death Confirmed

The autopsy report indicated that Nana suffered an acute heart attack due to a blood clot in the left main coronary artery, which is crucial for supplying blood to a significant portion of the heart. According to a PTI report, the official cause of death was recorded as “acute myocardial infarction due to left main coronary artery thrombosis secondary to atherosclerotic occlusive coronary artery disease, a natural cause of death.” This finding clarifies that Nana’s death was due to natural causes, as doctors had initially suspected a heart attack upon his arrival at the hospital.

Nana was at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, when he reportedly fell unwell. His caretaker promptly contacted a private hospital to request an ambulance. Given the proximity of his home to the hospital, an ambulance was dispatched quickly. Medical personnel began resuscitation efforts upon arrival, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for approximately 45 minutes, but unfortunately, they were unable to revive him. He was declared dead at 5:10 AM on October 8.

Final Journey to Maharashtra

Following the actor’s death, his son Malhar Patekar traveled to Goa to retrieve his father’s mortal remains. The body was first taken to Pune before being transported to Nana’s farmhouse in Donje village. There, the veteran actor was cremated with full state honors, reflecting the respect and admiration he garnered throughout his illustrious career.

Nana Patekar’s passing marks the end of a remarkable journey in the film industry, spanning several decades across both Hindi and Marathi cinema. Renowned for his intense performances and distinctive screen presence, he remained active in films until his final years. His contributions to the industry will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
