MALE MIGRATION TO URBAN AREAS

In the Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) conducted by the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation during the period July 2020 – June 2021, information was collected on the migration data of household members and the report titled ‘Migration in India, 2020-21’ has been released. According to this report titled ‘Migration in India, 2020-21’ released by the Ministry, the proportion of male migrants across states (regardless of age) who migrated to urban areas based on the location of the last place of habitual residence in terms of rural areas is 53.7.

This information was given today by the Minister of State (I/C) for the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Ministry of Planning and Minister of State at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Rao Inderjit Singh in a written response to the Rajya Sabha.
