India to Host Anti-Terror Conference to Tackle Evolving Threats

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the ‘Anti-Terror Conference’ this Friday, December 26, 2025, in New Delhi. Organized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs, the two-day event aims to enhance India’s strategies against terrorism, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Strengthening Coordination Against Terrorism

The conference serves as a vital forum for various stakeholders, including operational forces, legal experts, and forensic specialists, to collaboratively discuss critical issues that pose threats to national security. The primary objective is to foster synergies among different agencies, promoting coordinated action through both formal and informal channels. This approach reflects the government’s ‘Whole of the Government’ strategy to combat terrorism more effectively.

Sharing Insights and Best Practices

During the conference, participants will engage in discussions that share experiences and best practices in counter-terrorism (CT) efforts. These exchanges will highlight lessons from previous terror investigations, ensuring that law enforcement agencies learn and evolve in their tactics.

Focus on Key Topics

Key sessions will cover a range of pressing topics related to terrorism, including evidence collection across borders, advancements in digital forensics, and strategies for managing terror-related trials. Participants will also address issues surrounding radicalization, espionage, and hybrid threats to national security. Moreover, important discussions will take place on disrupting terror financing networks, sharing tools, techniques, and successful case studies.

A Collaborative Effort

The conference will gather senior police officers from various States and Union Territories, along with representatives from central agencies engaged in counter-terrorism. These collaborations aim to build institutional capacity and create future-ready CT frameworks capable of addressing emerging national security challenges.

This year’s Anti-Terror Conference underscores India’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding its citizens and reinforcing the mechanisms essential to confront the ever-evolving landscape of terrorism.
