India and Uzbekistan Sign Key Agreements to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
The Governments of India and Uzbekistan have taken significant steps to enhance their bilateral relations by signing a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at fostering cooperation across various sectors. These agreements encompass diverse fields including culture, education, tourism, and environmental protection, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
Among the important agreements is a Cultural Exchange Programme slated for 2026-2030, which aims to promote mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s cultures. Additionally, a Letter of Intent will facilitate the conservation and restoration of ancient Buddhist sites at Fayaz Tepa and KaraTepa in Termez, underscoring a shared commitment to protecting cultural heritage.
Strengthening Cultural and Educational Ties
The nations also agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in archival work between India’s National Archives and Uzbekistan’s agency
