Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Reports Major Progress at 2nd Court Meeting
Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) convened its second Court meeting at Rail Bhawan in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in its journey as a prominent institution. Chancellor Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is also the Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, highlighted the university’s remarkable development in just three years. With an industry-driven approach, GSV has become a model for educational excellence in the country, especially in the fields of Railways and Aviation.
During the meeting, Sh. Vaishnaw emphasized GSV’s commitment to expanding its curriculum in critical areas such as Bridge and Tunnel Engineering and Ship Building within the Maritime Sector. He also noted efforts to enhance training for the Defence Forces and deepen applied research in integrated transport planning, showcasing the university’s dedication to shaping India’s future infrastructure.

The Court meeting drew an impressive lineup of attendees, including Her Highness Shubhangini Raje Gaekwad, Shri Satish Kumar (Chairman & CEO of the Railway Board), Lt. Gen. Pushpendra Singh (Vice-Chief of the Army Staff), and other representatives from civil aviation and leading industries like L&T and AMD.
Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor of GSV, provided a comprehensive report detailing the university’s progress. Attendees praised GSV for its swift advancements and its exceptional partnerships with various industries, particularly in executive training for Railways, Defence Forces, and PM Gati Shakti for Civil Services. Suggestions for future collaborations were discussed, focusing on bridge and tunnel engineering, logistics in the defense sector, and enhanced training programs for the Indian Army.
New Initiatives and Infrastructure Expansion
Significantly, the meeting saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between GSV and BISAG, aimed at fostering the objectives of PM Gati Shakti. Additionally, AMD pledged financial support for establishing an incubation facility at the university. Plans are also underway for additional campus infrastructure, with a master plan already in the works following the acquisition of suitable land.
The annual reports and accounts for the fiscal year 2024-2025 were approved for presentation to Parliament, indicating GSV’s transparency and commitment to accountability.
