Damon Kyle Wayans Sr. was born on September 4, 1960, in Harlem, New York City, into a renowned family of entertainers. His mother, Elvira Green, was a singer, and his father, Howell Stouten Wayans, was a supermarket manager. Wayans attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where he studied drama and developed his passion for performance.

Wayans began his comedy career in the early 1980s as a stand-up comedian, performing in comedy clubs and honing his craft. In 1987, he made his film debut in ‘Hollywood Shuffle,’ beginning to establish himself in the entertainment industry.
