Ministry of New and Renewable Energy celebrates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

According to Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, there are many unsung heroes of the freedom struggle that have actively participated in the movement yet haven’t made it into our history. In Maangarh, in 1913, tribal people were brutally tortured and killed, but it’s not a well-known incident. Plays based on those incidents should be prepared by theatre activists and the National School of Drama and performed around the country to raise awareness about such heroes and tell their stories of bravery and courage, he said.
In her speech, Malini Awasthi mentioned the folk songs sung across large parts of India in praise of the freedom fighters. Although the British Government banned many of these songs, folk artists kept singing them and told the stories of unsung heroes.

The opening ceremony was followed by the performance of the play โ€œAranyadhipati Tantia Mamaโ€ Directed by Sh. Bansi Kaul.
