Admiral Tripathi Inspires NCC Cadets at Republic Day Camp
On January 6, 2024, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2025 at Delhi Cantt. This event marked a significant occasion for the cadets, who showcased their discipline and dedication. Admiral Tripathi took the opportunity to commend the cadets for their impressive display and immaculate turnout. He emphasized the importance of carrying the ethos of the NCC across the nation, encouraging the young cadets to embody high spirits and enthusiasm. The CNS also highlighted the various community development programs initiated by the NCC, such as Swachhta Pakhwada, tree plantation drives, and blood donation camps. These initiatives not only promote social awareness but also contribute significantly to nation-building efforts.
Encouragement and Vision for the Future
During his address, Admiral Tripathi shared inspiring words from Swami Vivekananda: โArise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.โ He reminded the cadets that they represent a mini-India, embodying the nation’s youthful spirit. As one of the youngest populations globally, the cadets have a crucial role in leading India towards a prosperous future, termed Viksit Bharat. The CNS urged the cadets to embrace the values of unity and discipline, along with patriotism, commitment, and social service. These core values, he asserted, would help them evolve into model citizens who contribute positively to society.
Admiral Tripathi also shared a mantra for success with the cadets. He emphasized the importance of a blend of attitude and aptitude, self-belief, character, commitment, and self-discipline. He quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who stated that the world looks at India with hope because of the power of its youth. This message resonated deeply with the cadets, motivating them to strive for excellence in their endeavors.
Collaboration Between NCC and Indian Navy
Admiral Tripathi highlighted the fruitful collaboration between the NCC and the Indian Navy. He noted that over the past year, more than 200 cadets received training at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala. Additionally, 100 cadets participated in yachting training across various locations, including Goa, Kochi, and Vizag. The training extended to sea experiences, with nearly 250 cadets undergoing sea training in Vizag and Mumbai. Notably, 20 cadets had the unique opportunity to sail on a naval ship and visit ten countries as part of the Overseas Deployment (OSD) program.
The CNS also mentioned the All India Nausainik Camp held at INS Shivaji in Lonavala and the All India Yachting Regatta at INS Chilka. These events allowed cadets to gain global exposure while participating in diverse activities. He praised the significant involvement of NCC cadets in the Coastal Security Exercise โSea Vigil,โ reinforcing the Indian Navy’s commitment to supporting NCC training activities. This collaboration not only enhances the cadets’ skills but also strengthens the bond between the two organizations.
Honoring Legacy and Cultural Engagement
In addition to his address, Admiral Tripathi paid tribute to the legacy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He recited Vajpayee’s famous poem, โเคเคผเคฆเคฎ เคฎเคฟเคฒเคพ เคเคฐ เคเคฒเคจเคพ เคนเฅเคเคพ,โ which emphasizes unity and collective progress. This gesture resonated with the cadets, reminding them of the importance of working together towards a common goal.
As part of his visit, the CNS toured the โHall of Fame,โ where he learned about the rich history of the NCC. He was briefed on the training programs and achievements of the cadets across the Army, Navy, and Air Force sections. The visit culminated in a cultural program performed by the talented cadets at the NCC Auditorium. This event showcased the creativity and dedication of the cadets, further enriching their experience at the camp.
