Acer Launches Nitro Blaze Handheld Consoles

Acer has unveiled its latest handheld gaming consoles, the Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8, at CES 2025. These devices promise to deliver a powerful gaming experience on the go. Both consoles come pre-installed with Windows 11 Home and are powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 APU. With 16GB of RAM, they are designed to handle demanding games and applications. The consoles also feature physical controls, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. In addition, Acer introduced the Nitro mobile controller, which is compatible with iOS and Android smartphones. This controller supports devices with screens up to 8.3 inches and offers USB Type-C passthrough charging.

However, Acer has not yet announced pricing details for these models in India. Alongside the consoles, the Nitro mobile controller will be available for $69.99. It will launch in the US during the second quarter of 2025, while European, Middle Eastern, and African markets will see its release starting in the first quarter of 2025. This pricing strategy positions Acer’s new offerings competitively within the handheld gaming market, appealing to both casual and serious gamers alike.

The Acer Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8 share many specifications, with the primary differences being their display sizes and battery capacities. The Nitro Blaze 11 features a 10.95-inch WQXGA IPS display, boasting a resolution of 2,560×1,600 pixels. In contrast, the Nitro Blaze 8 has a smaller 8.8-inch display with the same resolution. Both screens refresh at an impressive 144Hz and can reach a peak brightness of 500 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals and smooth gameplay. Under the hood, both consoles are powered by an octa-core Ryzen 7 8840HS APU and an AMD Radeon 780M GPU. They come with up to 2TB of NVMe storage, providing ample space for games and applications.

The consoles are equipped with standard gaming controls, including a D-pad, ABXY buttons, bumpers, and hall effect sticks. Additional buttons for menu navigation and volume control enhance the user experience. Notably, the power button also serves as a fingerprint scanner for secure access. Connectivity options are robust, featuring Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and multiple USB ports, including USB 4 Type-C and USB 3.2 Type-A. Both models are equipped with a 55Wh battery, with the Nitro Blaze 11 supporting 100W charging and the Nitro Blaze 8 offering 65W fast charging capabilities.
